About The Position
Resident Assistants are full-time undergraduates who help student residents smoothly transition to college and residence hall life. The goal of an RA is to help stimulate growth, both personal and academic, and develop strong community within the residence hall.
Requirements
- Full-time student status
- Have and maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA
- 2 semesters living in a residence hall
- Availability to fulfill job requirements
- Means of communicating effectively and regularly with Resident Director and residents
Nice To Haves
- Have and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA
- 3 or more semesters living in a residence hall
Responsibilities
- Weekly room checks
- Lobby duty
- Roaming
- Policy enforcement
- Team meetings
- Planning and implementing dynamic programming tailored to their residence hall
- Coordinating with Resident Directors on larger programs
- Carry out the mission of CU Residence Life while following and enforcing the policies outlined in the Student Handbook
- Communicate on a regular and timely basis with Resident Director and residents
- Demonstrate knowledge of campus resources to refer students with personal, social, or academic concerns
- Act as a servant-leader, working to build relationships with residents
- Exhibit Christian lifestyle and attitude, a high level of maturity and integrity, sound judgement, emotional stability, and flexibility
- Maintain confidentiality
