About The Position

The Resident Assistant provides personal care and designated health-related services to support or maintain residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing at Deephaven Woods Senior Living, an Ebenezer-managed community offering Independent/Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Enhanced Assisted Living. This is a casual role.

Requirements

Less than one year of experience is required.
Ability to use computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
If under 18, must be on the Minnesota NA registry; the site must be able to manage restrictions preventing the employee from passing medications or independently operating a mechanical lift.

Nice To Haves

One to three years of experience.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with personal care, including bathing and showering, foot and fingernail care, shaving, dressing, use of hearing aids or glasses, hair care, feeding, toileting, and escorts.
Assist residents with one- or two-person transfers and use of a mechanical lift.
Provide treatments under the direction of the Registered Nurse and in accordance with individualized care plans, including blood glucose monitoring.
Administer or assist with medications under the direction of the Registered Nurse, including insulin injections.
Take and record residents’ temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Perform laundry service according to schedule and follow the cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
Deliver meal trays and assist with meal service in the dining room.
Help prepare for or facilitate resident social and recreational activities as assigned or requested.
Observe residents and report their status to appropriate staff.
Notify appropriate staff of changes in residents’ physical or emotional conditions, including changes in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, or weight change.
Serve as a mandated reporter and report concerns about potential mistreatment.
Offer pertinent observations and input.
Respond appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
