About The Position

Works with individuals who are transitioning from dependency to independence in temporary stable housing with supportive programming. Provides on-site support to program participants, facilitates community meetings, conducts outreach, assists with residential inspections to ensure a safe and supportive living environment. Supports participant engagement, stabilization, and continuity of services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Interest in supporting youth and to establish positive working relationships
  • Maintain certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
  • Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Enrolled in or completed college or military experience
  • 1 year of experience working with youth or young adults

Responsibilities

  • Monitors compliant and/or non-compliant program and housing guidelines for residents.
  • Documents all participation, incidents, and maintenance in Salesforce.
  • Maintains a Community Board with an apartment community calendar with local, social, recreational, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Schedules and facilitates community meetings as needed.
  • Develops and maintains a maintenance request system with the assistance of the Director.
  • Be available to supervise scheduled appointments for facility repairs and maintenance.
  • Assists the Case Manager in developing and facilitating life skills workshops.
  • Be available to assist residents with “teachable moments” life skills development.
  • Monitor questionable or unsafe actions or behaviors in the general area of the apartments and contact the Police or Director as needed.
  • Assist with preparing apartments for new residents and cleaning out after resident’s departure.
  • Develops and maintains a list of approved organizations and their contacts for resident volunteer opportunities.
  • Must live on site in the OH program apartments.
  • Must have a strong commitment to helping young adults succeed in an innovative life skills and training program, to reorient their lives, nurture their leadership skills and enable them to make a difference in their community.
  • Must be able to resolve conflicts.
  • Implement BCFS safety protocols, at all times.
  • Maintain BCFS HHS's professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the employee handbook, including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with the required dress code, at all times.
