About The Position

This role supports trainees and the Program Director for the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at UTHealth Houston. The coordinator will utilize the New Innovations software system to track records and clinical rotations for approximately 12 trainees. The fellowship is a 3-year ACGME-accredited program focused on preparing future clinicians, researchers, and academic leaders in the care of critically ill children, offering diverse elective options, a comprehensive didactic and simulation curriculum, and robust research mentorship.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with residency management and physician scheduling software preferred.
  • Experience in an academic setting preferred.
  • May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative oversight for all residency and fellowship related items, including handling inquiries, sorting correspondence, setting up folders, maintaining residency program files, assisting in verification of training, and maintaining calendars.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and all residency/fellowship program requirements, including submitting duty hour reports, collecting and tracking evaluations, and ensuring compliance with moonlighting or other professional activities.
  • Manages schedules and resident attendance for all required educational activities, including conferences and didactic experiences.
  • Maintains the residency curriculum, including competency-based goals and objectives for each assignment and training level.
  • Creates and edits the departmental residency training manual.
  • Oversees all aspects of the resident/fellow recruitment process, including scheduling interviews, corresponding with applicants, confirming meetings, and ensuring applicant credentials comply with guidelines.
  • Implements all required modules of the residency management software, including data management, reporting, and user training.
  • Develops and maintains program letters of agreement for all required rotations at outside institutions.
  • May be assigned routine budget or financial responsibilities by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
