About The Position

This is a full-time, professional, academic staff live-in position for one academic year. It is an emergency hire for the current academic year, with the possibility for the successful candidate to apply for the permanent position search to be conducted in the spring. The selected individual will be responsible for the overall operation of a residence hall, including the supervision of undergraduate resident assistants and front desk staff. Duties encompass programming, discipline, counseling, staff selection and training, advising hall government, committee responsibilities, overseeing front desk operations (including food and beverage sales), and coordinating housekeeping and maintenance services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in residence halls

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in student personnel or related field
  • Supervision experience
  • Hall leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Receives and responds to crisis and student conduct situations according to established policies and procedures.
  • May supervise the day-to-day activities of students and/or professional staff and assist with the personnel management allocation plan including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation.
  • Serves as a main point of contact for resident support providing mediation and resolution of personal and facility issues.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates student programs and initiatives for residence life.
