The Residence Hall Director (RD) is responsible for the residential life functions in one or more residence halls. Primary responsibilities of an RD include the facilitation of a positive, inclusive, and safe community in the residence halls that encourages a student to develop their full potential. Additionally, the RD promotes students’ engagement with the community, lifelong learning skills, and personal development in support of the University’s Franciscan focused mission. This position includes supervision of a team of 8 – 12 resident assistants, on-call duty rotation, supervision of hall/area programming, administrative housing responsibilities, hearing of conduct cases, and assessment of established Residence Life learning outcomes. The RD is supervised by the Director of Residence Life and is a 11 month, live in position. Although the majority of duties are listed below, some aspects are subject to change to meet evolving division needs.
