About The Position

The Reservoir Engineering Advisor II or III will provide guidance and support to the Reservoir Leadership Team, ensuring high technical standards and achievement of performance objectives. This role involves developing and guiding the implementation of plans and programs for reservoir management, including detailed reservoir simulation studies. The advisor will build, run, and evaluate dynamic models, conduct supporting studies (PVT, inflow/outflow, relative permeability, SCAL, etc.), and perform depletion-plan assessments for asset acquisitions. Responsibilities also include leading peer reviews, providing reservoir engineering input to other project groups, mentoring junior engineers, documenting results, and communicating updates to stakeholders. The role requires developing project-specific strategies, supporting risk and uncertainty analyses, facilitating team meetings, and completing assigned services or studies while maintaining ethical conduct and adaptability to changing priorities.

Requirements

University degree or equivalent.
Demonstrated reservoir engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
At least five years of unconventional shale experience involving reservoirs that require hydraulic fracturing to produce.
Exceptional knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals.
Experience building, running, and evaluating dynamic reservoir models.
Experience conducting reservoir simulation studies efficiently and within required timelines.
Ability to identify technical issues, develop solutions, and conduct reservoir evaluations independently.
Working knowledge of reservoir management practices, processes, and expectations.
Ability and willingness to direct, guide, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate with and influence personnel at multiple organizational levels, from senior management to field personnel.
Ability to work effectively within an integrated project-team environment.
Flexible and capable of responding to unforeseen conditions and changing priorities.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality, ethical conduct, and high customer-service standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer applications.
Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice To Haves

Approximately seven or more years of unconventional oil and gas experience preferred.
Willingness to travel or live away from home for extended periods.
No training will be provided other than company-specific safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance to support the Reservoir Leadership Team in achieving performance objectives and maintaining high technical standards.
Develop plans and programs required by the Reservoir Management Team.
Guide reservoir engineers in establishing and implementing plans that meet reservoir engineering requirements.
Perform or guide detailed reservoir simulation studies.
Build, run, and evaluate dynamic models to assess depletion schemes and investigate technical issues.
Perform or guide supporting studies involving: Pressure, Volume, Temperature (PVT), Inflow and outflow, Relative permeability, Special Core Analysis Laboratory (SCAL), Other reservoir evaluations.
Perform depletion-plan assessments supporting asset acquisition evaluations.
Lead or participate in peer reviews to ensure high technical standards.
Provide reservoir engineering input to drilling, facilities, and other project groups.
Mentor less-experienced reservoir engineers in simulation and related studies.
Document results in clear written and graphical formats.
Provide timely and focused updates to management, partners, and other stakeholders.
Develop project-specific strategies with the Project Team to address identified risks and challenges.
Support risk assessments and studies defined in the Project Risk Management Plan.
Ensure study findings are addressed during relevant field execution.
Support uncertainty analyses and value-of-information assessments for data-acquisition plans.
Facilitate Reservoir Team meetings when assigned.
Complete additional services or studies assigned by the Reservoir Leadership Team.
Maintain a high degree of ethical conduct.
Work effectively in an environment with changing priorities.
Develop and deliver technical presentations.
Provide regulatory compliance support as required.
