Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Data Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related fields with 6+ years of experience; or M.S. in Chemistry, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields with 8+ years of experience
  • Prior experience in reservoir engineering modelling
  • Strong proficiency with reservoir simulation software such as CMG (IMEX/GEM/STARS), Eclipse, tNavigator, or similar.
  • Ability to integrate geological, petrophysical, and production data into coherent reservoir models.
  • Solid understanding of reservoir fluid behavior, PVT analysis, and multiphase flow.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Python, SQL, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical results into business value.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chemical EOR, flow assurance modelling, or chemical‑treatment performance evaluation.
  • Familiarity with production chemistry, scale/corrosion modelling, or emulsion behavior.
  • Exposure to digital oilfield tools, machine learning workflows, or advanced analytics.
  • Prior customer‑facing or technical‑service experience in the energy or specialty chemicals sector.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and update 3D reservoir simulation models to forecast production and evaluate the impact of chemical interventions.
  • Model/evaluate the transport and interaction of specialty chemicals (polymers, surfactants, etc.) within the reservoir to optimize recovery factors.
  • Provide recommendations for well spacing, completion designs, and injection patterns based on simulation outcomes.
  • Work closely with chemical vendors and lab teams to translate lab-scale "bottle tests" and "core floods" into field-scale simulation parameters.
  • Integrate subsurface, production, and chemical‑treatment data to generate actionable insights for customers.
  • Collaborate with chemists, product managers, and technical service teams to translate modelling results into commercial recommendations.
