About The Position

The Reserve Officer Program provides individuals with an opportunity to serve their community while gaining valuable law enforcement experience. Reserve Officers assist full-time officers with patrol operations, community events, crime prevention programs, traffic control, prisoner transports, court security, and other public safety functions.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid Oregon driver's license
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Pass a psychological evaluation
  • Successfully complete the National Police Officer Selection Test (POST)
  • Pass the Oregon Physical Abilities Test (ORPAT) with a time of 6:20 or less
  • Complete the Mid-Valley Reserve Training Academy (MVRT)

Responsibilities

  • Assist full-time officers with patrol operations
  • Assist with community events
  • Assist with crime prevention programs
  • Assist with traffic control
  • Assist with prisoner transports
  • Assist with court security
  • Assist with other public safety functions
  • Volunteer a minimum of 25 hours per month
  • Attend monthly training meetings

Benefits
