About The Position

A qualified individual is needed for a research assistant position with the Center for Public Health Systems Science (CPHSS) at the Brown School. CPHSS works to change systems to create healthier communities through research, evaluation, and translation. We use a range of innovative methods in three core focus areas: 1) Policy and Prevention 2) Dissemination and Implementation and 3) Systems Science. The research assistant will work on several projects relating to the Translational Science Benefits Model which aims to help public health and clinical scientists demonstrate the impact of their scientific activities on downstream public health, clinical, and societal benefits. This position will be responsible for presenting TSBM materials to lay audiences, assisting with both quantitative and qualitative data collection, data analysis, and developing dissemination materials. Primary responsibilities include developing presentation materials, giving TSBM presentations as well as developing case studies and assisting with development and testing of tools to plan, track, and demonstrate impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, social sciences, public policy, or other related field and two years of relevant experience. Or a Master’s degree and no experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate evaluation and research activities in close consultation with TSBM Manager.
  • Assist with and/or lead TSBM presentation and workshops.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Develop project-related reports, presentations, and other products.
  • Maintain databases and other project tracking tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
