The Paulson Lab at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a motivated Senior Research Technologist to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating stress erythropoiesis and inflammatory anemia. The research examines how inflammatory signaling and the hematopoietic microenvironment regulate erythroid progenitor development and recovery from anemia. The successful candidate will conduct experiments using cell culture and in vivo mouse models. Mammalian cell culture experience is required; experience with flow cytometry and mouse handling is preferred. The position also manages the animal colony, lab supply ordering and inventory records, and lab safety records, and ensures compliance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations. The position is based at Penn State’s University Park campus and is funded by NIH grants for one year. Continuation beyond one year depends on university need, performance, and/or funding availability.
