The Paulson Lab at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a motivated Senior Research Technologist to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating stress erythropoiesis and inflammatory anemia. The research focuses on how inflammatory signaling and the hematopoietic microenvironment regulate erythroid progenitor development and recovery from anemia. The successful candidate will perform experiments using cell culture and in vivo mouse models. Mammalian cell culture experience is required; experience with flow cytometry and handling mice is preferred. The position also manages the animal colony, laboratory supply orders and inventory records, and lab safety records, and helps ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations. The position is based at Penn State’s University Park campus and is funded by NIH grants for one year. Continuation beyond one year depends on university need, performance, and/or funding availability.
