Research Technologist | Biological Sciences (Vancouver, WA)
About The Position
The College of Arts and Sciences at Washington State University Vancouver is seeking a year-round, full-time Research Technologist 1 for the School of Biological Sciences. This position supports ongoing research on the genomic basis of adaptation and phenotypic variation, with a primary focus on assisting lab operations and analyzing genomic data. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, familiarity with Drosophila biology and relevant methods, and a background in evolutionary biology, population genetics, coding, and biostatistics. The Research Technologist will also support the generation of new and ongoing experimental studies and assist lab members with protocols and analyses.
Requirements
- Two (2) years experience as a laboratory technician, research aide, OR equivalent; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of science OR technology; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in a research laboratory setting.
- Strong organization skills.
- Familiarity with Drosophila biology and relevant methods.
- Background in evolutionary biology and population genetics.
- Coding skills.
- Biostatistics background.
