About The Position

The College of Arts and Sciences at Washington State University Vancouver is seeking a year-round, full-time Research Technologist 1 for the School of Biological Sciences. This position supports ongoing research on the genomic basis of adaptation and phenotypic variation, focusing on lab operations and genomic data analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, familiarity with Drosophila biology and methods, and a background in evolutionary biology, population genetics, coding, and biostatistics. The role involves supporting new and ongoing experimental studies and assisting lab members with protocols and analyses.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years experience as a laboratory technician, research aide, OR equivalent; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of science OR technology; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a research laboratory setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong coding skills.
  • Solid background in evolutionary biology, population genetics, and biostatistics.
  • Familiarity with Drosophila biology and relevant methods.
  • Enthusiasm for research.
