About The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technologist to join our Germ-Free Animal Facility team. This position supports the maintenance and operation of specialized animal colonies and contributes to research projects requiring germ-free and gnotobiotic animal models.
Requirements
- Germ-free animal models experience
- Gnotobiotic animal models experience
- Animal husbandry and colony management
- Handling and monitoring research animals
- Breeding, weaning, health monitoring, and record keeping
- Sterilization procedures
- Equipment maintenance
- Environmental monitoring
- Collaboration with investigators and facility staff
- Accurate documentation
- Adherence to standard operating procedures
Responsibilities
- Perform routine animal husbandry and colony management in a germ-free environment.
- Handle and monitor research animals in accordance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with breeding, weaning, health monitoring, and record keeping.
- Support facility operations, including sterilization procedures, equipment maintenance, and environmental monitoring.
- Collaborate with investigators and facility staff to support ongoing research projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to established standard operating procedures.
