About The Position

Under general supervision, provide support for department research through projects, maintenance and communication of data, and execution of laboratory experiments. This role involves carrying out experimental designs for sponsored research projects, performing routine experiments, and recording and compiling accurate records. The Research Technologist will also communicate summaries of experimental results, assist with the evaluation and interpretation of experimental data, and ensure quality control of assays. Participation in meetings with the principal investigator and research staff is expected, along with evaluating and interpreting the validity of data as needed. Duties also include ordering and maintaining supply inventories, operating, calibrating, and performing routine maintenance on specialized research equipment, and preparing media and maintaining cells using various culturing techniques. The position may also involve overseeing daily lab operations in the absence of the supervisor or Principal Investigator.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.
  • Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • No experience

  • Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Responsibilities
