About The Position

This position will primarily focus on performing biochemical and structural biology research at the interface between human health and the oral microbiome. The position will be full-time and in the research team of Dr. Adam Lietzan in the Department of Periodontology, Endodontics, and Dental Hygiene located in the Koury Oral Health Sciences building. The Lietzan Lab identifies and characterizes molecular mechanisms involved in periodontal (gum) disease. As such, the person in this position will work directly with Dr. Adam Lietzan to provide support to his ongoing research projects.

Requirements

  • Biochemical and structural biology research experience
  • Experience at the interface between human health and the oral microbiome
  • Ability to develop research protocols
  • Ability to perform experiments
  • Ability to properly document and maintain laboratory records
  • Ability to coordinate and support ongoing laboratory activities
  • Ability to maintain laboratory equipment, common stocks, and inventory
  • Ability to collect data and process samples in a clinical setting
