Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas is seeking a Research Technician for the Department of Biomedical Sciences. This role supports research activities, including animal care, experiments, and data collection. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related lab work experience, to include animal handling.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience with animal handling/experiments.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in conducting experiments and technical procedures.
  • Performs laboratory research activities.
  • Assists undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.
  • Performs animal care, genotype, and surgery procedures.
  • Conducts sample collection and preparation.
  • Performs histological/microscopy image analysis/photography and histological preparation/cutting of tissues.
  • Prepares animal models.
  • Makes and records observations and measurements.
  • Maintains animal reports and data files.
  • Assembles and operates technical equipment.
  • Sets up and maintains equipment for the assigned laboratory and updates laboratory computers.
  • Maintains laboratories according to Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) specifications.
  • Provides logistical support with computers in the laboratory.
  • Performs laboratory and prep room cleanup daily.
