About The Position
New York Institute of Technology is seeking a Research Assistant/Technician for its Jonesboro, Arkansas campus. The ideal candidate has experience with fundamental cellular and molecular biological techniques, with a preference for experience handling research animals. The role supports research projects through animal handling and in vivo studies, laboratory operations, experiments, and data management.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Experience related to handling laboratory equipment.
- Experience working with basic science laboratory equipment.
- Experience with laboratory research animals and cell culture.
- Strong work ethic and interest in developing independent research projects.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- College degree (e.g., B.S. or B.A.) in Biology, Chemistry, Physiology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience with molecular biological techniques such as electrophoresis, spectroscopy, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
- Experience handling research animals.
Responsibilities
- Handle small animals and conduct in vivo studies.
- Organize the laboratory and manage purchasing.
- Conduct experiments related to cellular and molecular biology.
- Collect and analyze data and maintain records.
- Perform general laboratory maintenance.
- Assist with research projects.
