The Diaz Cuadros Laboratory in the Department of Molecular Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Research Technician to help establish the laboratory and its research program. The role supports research on mechanisms that control developmental timing, using pluripotent stem cell-based models of mammalian embryonic development. Projects focus on the intersection of metabolism, proteostasis, and developmental biology. The successful candidate will help set up the laboratory, build a supportive community, operate the stem cell culture facility, and participate in research projects. Training will be provided in maintenance, CRISPR-based genetic engineering, and directed differentiation of mouse and human pluripotent stem cells. The position also emphasizes scientific communication and professional development through presentations at lab meetings, journal clubs, and regional meetings. The principal investigator is committed to inclusive mentorship and career development. More generally, the Research Technician maintains laboratory equipment, organizes and prepares samples, conducts experiments, and records and analyzes data. Candidates completing a bachelor's degree have six months from their hire date to provide degree-equivalency verification, or up to one year if starting per diem. Experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. This position does not require patient care.
