About The Position

A research technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Melda Onal at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology to study skeletal biology. The technician will participate in two ongoing projects: one focused on studying the role of different forms of autophagy and their roles in skeletal biology, and the second focused on the development of CRISPR interference murine models for loss of function studies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments using in vitro and ex vivo approaches with primary cells and established cell lines.
  • Manage genetically modified mouse colonies.
  • Conduct in vivo studies using established mouse models of skeletal diseases.
  • Maintain detailed notes and documentation of experiments.
  • Assist with ordering and inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
