About The Position

The Research Technician will lead research projects, complex experiments, and related laboratory works with a focus on running & maintaining our mouse colony of over 400 cages. Key responsibilities include independently managing the lab and performing advanced bench procedures. They will report directly to the PI and be responsible for mentoring lab members of all levels as needed. The candidate will work closely with veterinary staff, animal care personnel, and research teams to coordinate routine husbandry, address animal health or breeding concerns, and optimize colony efficiency. Additional duties include independently maintaining records and ensuring all lab members use practices consistent with institutional animal care and use requirements, approved protocols, biosafety and laboratory safety standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience running and maintaining a mouse colony.
• Ability to perform advanced bench procedures.
• Experience managing a lab.
• Familiarity with institutional animal care and use requirements, approved protocols, biosafety and laboratory safety standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
