About The Position
The Aviram Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center investigates how bacteria defend themselves against infection through CRISPR-Cas immune systems, uncovering fundamental mechanisms of genetic memory and genome protection. You will contribute to discoveries that deepen our understanding of CRISPR biology, enabling advances in genome engineering technologies that ultimately support innovative cancer research tools and future therapeutic development!
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field.
- Proven basic laboratory skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a research setting.
- Attention to detail and strong record-keeping habits.
- Ability to follow protocols while troubleshooting when needed.
- Team-oriented approach to supporting postdocs and fellow researchers.
- Adaptability in a dynamic lab environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
- Perform specialized techniques, such as bacterial culture, electrophoresis, PCR etc.
- Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
- Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.
