About The Position

The Geissmann Lab studies the development and function of macrophages, monocytes, and dendritic cells to understand how immune cells influence tissue growth, metabolism, and cancer progression. You would help uncover how these immune populations either suppress or promote tumor development, contributing to new strategies that harness the immune system to prevent cancer growth and metastasis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology/life sciences.
  • Basic laboratory skills; experience with cell culture, wester blotting, qPCR, ELISA, CRISPR or IHC staining.
  • Comfort working with mouse models is required for this role.
  • Attention to detail and strong record-keeping habits.
  • Ability to follow protocols while troubleshooting when needed.
  • Strong scientific curiosity with proactive approach to learning.
  • Team-oriented approach to supporting postdocs and fellow researchers.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic lab environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
  • Perform specialized techniques, such as cell culture, qPCR, western blot, ELISA, CRISPR etc.
  • Conduct animal studies, including injections, tissue/fluids collection, genotyping and animal autopsies.
  • Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
  • Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.
