Research Technician, Minn Lab

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center•New York, NY
•$27 - $40

About The Position

The Minn Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms that shape anti-tumor immunity and cancer immunotherapy resistance, with the goal of translating discoveries into new therapeutic strategies. The Research Technician supports research in tumor immunology, functional genomics, and therapeutic resistance, working closely with Marco Vincenzo Russo, Scientific Research Lead, and the Minn Lab research team. The role supports molecular and cellular experiments and in vivo tumor studies. Work includes maintaining cancer cell lines; performing DNA and RNA preparation, PCR, cloning, lentiviral transduction, and generation of engineered cell lines; supporting CRISPR screening and validation studies; conducting animal studies; preparing samples for flow cytometry, cell sorting, sequencing, and single-cell studies; and maintaining records, organizing data, preparing reagents, and supporting ongoing experiments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, immunology, cancer biology, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and record keeping.
  • Ability to independently follow established protocols.
  • Scientific curiosity and willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple experiments and work collaboratively.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • 2–4 years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
  • Experience with CRISPR/gene editing, lentiviral transduction, flow cytometry, or next-generation sequencing is a plus.
  • Experience with mouse models is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cancer cell lines.
  • Perform DNA/RNA preparation, PCR, cloning, lentiviral transduction, and generation of engineered cell lines.
  • Support CRISPR screening and validation studies focused on immunotherapy resistance.
  • Perform tumor implantation, treatments, monitoring, tissue collection, and tumor processing in animal studies.
  • Prepare samples for flow cytometry, cell sorting, sequencing, and single-cell studies.
  • Maintain accurate records, organize data, prepare reagents, and support ongoing experiments.
