The Research Technician/Technologist is responsible for performing all technical duties in one of the functional areas of Electronic, Mechanical, CAD or Software to develop product and research solutions. Support the qualification and commercialization of products and research. Participate in the development of new technologies and low-cost innovations that maintain Schlumberger's technical leadership position. Develop and conduct tests, measurements and procedures, and generate designs and programs at various levels of complexity. Conduct troubleshooting to diagnose product, process, design or program defects and repair them. Exercise judgment to recognize and handle nonstandard occurrences and problems. Coordinate and communicate work efforts within Engineering, and with related company organizations and vendors. Maintain a safe work environment. Direct or assign the work of other technicians as required. Participate in recruiting.
