About The Position

This role participates in planned research projects by performing research protocols with minimal direction and guidance from the principal investigator, program director or senior scientists. May exercise moderate discretion and judgement in the execution and interpretation of experiments, and of data derived. The Mariko Bennett Lab in the Division of Neurology is interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying neuroinflammatory disorders and the role that microglia play in these processes. The goal is to develop therapies that can improve outcomes for our patients with acquired and genetic neuroimmunological conditions. To understand this function, we use advanced molecular biology techniques like single nuclear RNA sequencing, in vitro and in vivo models to specifically target and transplant microglia, and mechanistic studies with small molecules, genetic, and informatics approaches. We are seeking a research technician with experience in molecular biology and animal husbandry to support new projects and collaborations. This entry-level role involves performing experimental procedures under supervision and assisting with laboratory operations, including inventory, scheduling, compliance, and basic project coordination.
