About The Position

The Department of Surgery Immuno-Oncology is seeking a full-time lab technician to participate in an immuno-oncology project. The individual will be responsible for processing blood and tissue samples from human subjects for IRB-approved protocols. Will also perform procedures such as immune cell isolation, culturing, and in vitro functional tests following the tissue collection. May also help other lab staff working on animal (mice) management including collecting and processing tissues and subsequent biological and immunological analysis of the samples.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of mandatory laboratory and safety training is required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A strong background in cell biology and immunology.
  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • Specific techniques include PCR, IHC, ELISA, and flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

  • Processing blood and tissue samples from human subjects for IRB-approved protocols.
  • Performing procedures such as immune cell isolation, culturing, and in vitro functional tests.
  • Assisting with animal (mice) management, including collecting and processing tissues.
  • Performing biological and immunological analysis of samples.
  • Data collection and data management/organization.
  • Analyzing and summarizing experimental results and reporting the results to the Supervisor.
