About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION Raggio Lab Research Technician - the applicant must be proficient in current computer programs, including MS Word, Excel, and other pertinent software for lab work. The position requires basic research responsibilities, including animal care and handling, and the handling and processing of bones and tissues for histology, micro-CT, FTIR-I, and biomechanics. The position requires the ability to learn and apply new techniques as developed. The position includes attending weekly laboratory meetings, presentations of work on a weekly basis at laboratory meetings, participating in collaborator phone conferences, preparation of IACUC submissions, being trained on online data capture systems and data analysis software, preparation of formal talks, poster presentations, manuscript preparation and submission, and completion of additional duties as delegated. The position provides exposure to and participation in clinical projects related to basic science projects.

Requirements

  • The applicant must be proficient in current computer programs, including MS Word, Excel, and other pertinent software for lab work.
  • This full-time position requires a BA/BS (BS preferred) or/and 5 years’ experience in the field of bone biology.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with contracts.
  • Assists in the negotiation of physician-managed care contracts, analytics, and financial modeling.
  • Coordinates physician enrollment in managed care plans.
  • Ensures compliance with negotiated contracts of managed care companies.
  • Follows up and resolves payment issues with Insurance Payors.
  • Acts as a liaison between physician offices and Insurance Payors.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and documents for all PHO related meetings.
  • Maintains tracking logs, creates and maintains tracking logs for Insurance Payor issues, and is accountable for closing out items.
  • Oversees PHO phone line, answers and responds to inquiries, and assists with urgent physician office issues.
  • Maintains a satisfactory attendance record.
  • Reports for duty punctually.
  • Adjusts to changing situations and work assignments.
