About The Position

The Research Technician I participates in the planning, executing, documenting, and reporting of research, product development and validation efforts. Performs testing of cell or tissue samples. Activities may include production and quality control of research grade products and medical prototypes. Your work will have purpose every single day, contributing directly to life-changing outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Project.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple time sensitive projects, multi-task, identify project interdependencies and potential risks/pitfalls.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and build relationships with all professionals at different levels within the organization.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure high degree of accuracy/completeness and early/on-time delivery.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with team members within and across departments.
  • Scientific Knowledge: A knowledge of anatomy as well as cellular biology. Basic understanding of chemistry to include chemical interactions and being able to use mathematic formulas to make different concentrations of chemicals.
  • Laboratory Skills: Familiarity with industrial documentation and regulatory processes and basic laboratory skills.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of hands- on laboratory experience with tissue processing, molecular or cell experience
  • Experience can be obtained from undergraduate classwork, internships, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Follows protocols and tissue work orders as outlined in working instructions and product/prototype procedural specifications including new graft and equipment development, as well as product development, manufacturing, and validation initiatives in compliance with LifeNet policy, LifeNet procedures and Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Collects experimental data and assembles experimental and production documents in support of raw data analysis.
  • Maintains research workstations, laboratories, designated research production spaces, as well as tissue processing suite and its equipment.
  • Assists in developing protocols and experimental designs required to support assigned research, to include new graft and equipment development, as well as product development, manufacturing, and validation initiatives.
  • Reviews and maintains team-specific research and the processing of consumable inventories according to established procedures. All other duties as assigned.
