About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an hourly Research Technician I position with the Autism Works Study, a clinical trial assessing the adaptation of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) for autistic adults. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and senior research staff, the Research Technician I will support the development of key data infrastructure and procedural elements in preparation for the clinical trial.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in science, anthropology, biology or related field
  • At least (3) months of experience as a research assistant
  • At least (1) semester of masters coursework in public health or biostatistics completed
  • Completion of at least (1) project using GLM/GLMM models in R
  • Completion of at least (1) project using machine learning models (logistic regression, random forest, XGBoost) in Python

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a teaching assistant in Data Science or related course
  • Lives within commuting distance

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of an electronic data collection system in REDCap, including forms, validation logic, and underlying database infrastructure for use in the clinical trial.
  • Support the development of data-analysis related study protocol elements, including the Statistical Analysis Plan, Sample Size Documentation, and Randomization Plan.
  • Support the development and implementation of data compliance procedures, including implementation of the Data Quality Assurance Plan and preparation of materials for the Data and Safety Monitoring Board.
  • Assist in key pre-trial activities, including protocol writing, ClinicalTrials.gov registration, and IRB submission.
