About The Position

Perform research and development on solid-oxide fuel cells, electrolyzers, and membrane reactors for energy- and chemical-conversion applications.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Background in solid-oxide fuel cells and electrolyzers in the laboratory environment
  • Good analytical skills for high-temperature catalytic reactors and solid oxide fuel cells.
  • Comfort in laboratory-based environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating high-temperature reacting flow systems
  • Knowledge of electrochemistry and catalysis with testing experience in both.
  • SolidWorks drawing capabilities but no certification required

Responsibilities

  • Execute physical experiments on electrochemical performance of solid-oxide fuel cells, electrolyzers, and membrane reactors
  • Harness experimental research tools to characterize device performance, behavior, and characteristics, including conventional AC and DC potentiostats, gas chromatography, and unique electrochemical test stands
  • Present results to external funding agents through written reports and presentations
