About The Position

The Anastassiou Laboratory, affiliated with the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology, the Center of Neural Sciences and Medicine, and the Regenerative Medicine Institute, is seeking a Research Support Assistant. This role provides clerical support to Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Program Administrator, Research Nurse, or Research Manager. The position involves administrative support for research protocols, including document management, obtaining signatures, and maintaining samples, kits, and study supplies. The incumbent must adhere to all federal, local, FDA, IRB, and HIPAA guidelines and regulations pertaining to the study and patient care. The laboratory's research focuses on understanding how the molecular and cellular composition of neurons translates to their phenotype and how these properties combine in brain circuits to produce function or dysfunction in disease.

Requirements

High School diploma/GED is required.
No experience required.

Responsibilities

Completes data entry as required.
Provides document management for research activities.
Handles the process of acquiring the proper signatures for research grants and protocols.
Completes sample preparation and shipping and maintains study supplies and kits.
Responsible for acquiring outside research records for patients enrolled in protocols.
Schedules research meetings.
Ensures compliance with all federal and local agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA and local Institutional Review Board.
Maintains research practices using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations and applicable law.
Participates in required training and education programs.
