About The Position
The Fleishman Root Agroecology Lab at Penn State is seeking research assistant(s) for ongoing lab projects. The lab aims to understand the relationship between roots and soil properties to clarify the dual role of roots as supporters of plant health and shapers of key soil functions.
Requirements
- Strong interest in agroecology, plant sciences, or related fields
- Ability to work in a variety of conditions, including outdoors
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and well organized
- Must operate a motor vehicle as part of job duties
- Valid driver's license
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check
- Successful completion of background check(s)
Responsibilities
- Collect plant and soil samples from the field or greenhouses
- Perform laboratory analyses on plant and soil samples
- Enter and organize data
- Support experiment setup and maintenance
- Collaborate with lab members on ongoing projects
