About The Position

This position supports the research and teaching responsibilities associated with the laboratory of Dr. K. Boesze-Battaglia.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct treatment of iRPE and analyze outputs relevant to experimentation including immunocytochemistry, western blot, microscopy, qPCR, etc.
  • Carry out in vivo experimentation including breeding of animals, genotyping, tissue harvest and tissue sectioning.
  • Manage tissue culture of primary iPSC retinal pigment epithelial cells (iRPE) and primary RPE
  • Analyze data, draw preliminary interpretations and applying statistical methods.
  • Provide training and mentorship to students in the laboratory
  • Contribute to design of experiments to assess mechanisms of RPE metabolic regulation and lipoprotein secretion
  • Maintain a notebook associated with research activities
  • Other duties as assigned. Provide and maintain expertise in innovative solutions focused on the responsible stewardship of Penn Dental Medicine and its community experience.
