About The Position

This position is located in the Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) and will work on clinical research projects located in the Colorado Program for Patient Centered Decisions (CPPCD), under the supervision of Larry Allen, MD (Professor, Medicine-Cardiology) and Kate Noonan, MSW. Responsibilities for the position include support in the administration, implementation, and reporting of patient-oriented investigations conducted to help improve medical decision making. Activities will include recruiting and interviewing patients, gathering data, developing data reports, editing manuscripts, and coordinating logistics for studies related to medical decision-making. The RSP will work in varied capacities to provide support for existing and future research projects of the CPPCD. This work often requires collaboration with various study sites, research team members, interaction with patients and their families, communication with doctors and nurses, and communication with the study team. The ideal candidate will have experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and strong interpersonal skills needed to work with key partners in the community and at participating practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis
  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience (Intermediate Minimum)
  • Two (2) years clinical research or related experience (Senior Minimum)
  • Advanced Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in science or health related field (Intermediate Preferred)
  • Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience (Intermediate Preferred)
  • Previous experience in research/evaluation project management, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, and analysis. (Intermediate Preferred)
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems) (Intermediate Preferred)

  • Three (3) years of clinical research or related experience (Senior Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with team to develop, test, and implement decision-making tools.
  • Assist in conducting key informant interviews, and coding and analysis of qualitative data
  • Compiling and disseminating documents (including visual presentations, e.g., posters for conferences) related to the research projects.
  • Literature searches and manuscript coordination, editing, and submission.
