Part-time Open Rank Research Services Laboratory Services Professional (Entry – Intermediate) (0.5 FTE)
About The Position
The applicant will participate in experiments involving cell biology, molecular biology, and immunohistochemistry using a mouse model of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, one of the most common kidney diseases in young adults. The University of Colorado Anschutz Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension has a long legacy in academic medicine. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
- One (1) year professional level research experience (for Intermediate Level).
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Proficient knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
- One (1) or more years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory.
