The Research Services Clinical Sciences (Open Rank – Intermediate to Senior) Professional provides essential support to the Pathology Shared Resource by coordinating the collection, processing, storage, and management of biospecimens for clinical and translational research. This role ensures the integrity, quality, and traceability of biological samples and associated data while maintaining strict compliance with institutional policies, regulatory standards, and study protocols. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in clinical research and biospecimen handling within a dynamic academic medical environment. Responsibilities include managing biological tissue and fluid specimens and maintaining accurate, secure clinical research data for ongoing studies. This position also involves coordinating research staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for biospecimen collection during patient clinic visits and surgical procedures. The individual will actively monitor EPIC clinic and operating room schedules to identify upcoming procedures involving research participants and support timely specimen collection. Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance documentation, and supporting the implementation of policies and guidelines required to achieve and maintain College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation for the Pathology Shared Resource.
