About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Senior Technician to join the Climate Analytics Lab to support research in applied climatology. This role will work on projects ranging from future climate influences on biological systems to boundary layer influences on tornado genesis. This role involves analyzing large-scale environmental datasets (using Python, CRBasic) and translating the results into scientific journal articles. This position will be responsible for the repair and reprogramming of dataloggers, as well as repair of research instruments including HC2S3’s, 616L, and 014A’s. The Department of Geography, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Senior Technician to join our team. Requirements

• Data analytics skills including experience with soil moisture interpolation techniques, future climate analysis, economic analysis, and knowledge of biological systems.
• Technical/mechanical skills including experience in repair and reprogramming of dataloggers, as well as repair of instruments include HC2S3’s, 616L, and 014A’s.
• Proficient in python
• Proficient in CRBasic

Responsibilities

• Conducting analysis and producing results for 4 research projects
• Delivering 4 completed manuscripts by the end of the term
• Repairing microclimate instrumentation
• Completing additional research related tasks assigned by Dr. Quiring
