About The Position

The laboratory of Dr. Latha P. Ganesan at The Ohio State University is hiring a Research Technician/Lab Manager to support an immunology research program focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease pathogenesis. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of applied immunopathology research with direct relevance to human disease. The position provides hands-on experience with mouse models, including surgical procedures, transgenic and cell type–specific knockout systems, single-cell preparation from organs, and primary mouse and mammalian cell culture. It involves advanced immunological and molecular techniques, including Western blotting, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry, CRISPR-based genome editing, transfection, and molecular biology approaches such as cloning and plasmid preparation. The candidate will also gain experience in studying liver clearance function, including assessment of hepatic clearance pathways in disease models, as well as conducting protein–protein interaction studies and measuring binding affinities using Biacore (surface plasmon resonance)–based assays. The candidate will play a central role in executing and optimizing experiments in a dynamic, hypothesis-driven research environment. Additional responsibilities include data organization and analysis, reagent and sample management, supervision and training of undergraduate students, and coordination of shared equipment and laboratory workflows. The position also includes maintaining IACUC, IBC, and biological and chemical safety compliance, supporting lab inspections, and contributing to general lab operations, including ordering and inventory management.
