About The Position

The Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering at The Ohio State University is seeking a Research Senior Associate to contribute to the development of crop protection spray technologies and the modeling of pesticide droplet fate and transport. This role involves hands-on research in laboratory and field settings, the development of advanced spraying equipment, and sophisticated modeling of agricultural air emissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in agricultural, biological, or environmental engineering or a closely related field.
• Training/background in agricultural air emission monitoring, mitigation, and modeling.
• 1 year of relevant experience with a Master's degree or 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Ability to think creatively and critically.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong work ethics.
• Aspiration and dedication to a successful academic or industry career.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of U.S. food animal production systems.
• Strong commitment to pursuing academic excellence, as evidenced by publication of refereed articles, conference proceedings, manuscripts under review, and grant proposal activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research project tasks, including implementing research plans, system installation, data collection and analysis, and data quality control.
• Prepare research reports and present research papers/findings at professional conferences and industry-oriented workshops.
• Prepare manuscripts for refereed publications based on research outcomes.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate research assistants.
• Assist in the development and preparation of grant proposals.
