About The Position
The Research Scientist position at the Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL) - Intelligent Logistics Systems (ILS) Lab will focus on conducting and leading sponsored research. This role involves developing research proposals, collaborating with various partners, publishing findings, mentoring students, and contributing to teaching and professional activities. The ILS Lab specializes in applying operations research, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to solve complex problems in supply chain, logistics, and transportation.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Operations Research, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
- A minimum of four years of relevant research or industry experience
- Demonstrated record of scholarly publications and research excellence
- Experience developing research proposals and securing sponsored research funding
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with academic, industry, and government partners
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in operations research, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or optimization applied to logistics, transportation, or supply chain management
- Experience mentoring graduate students
- Experience teaching graduate or executive education courses
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research environment
