About The Position

As a Research Scientist Intern, you will principally be involved in helping with the execution of laboratory experiments. You will work with enthusiastic scientists with diverse expertise and perspective, and have access to state-of-the-art equipment and methodologies. You will receive training according to your needs, and are expected to work collaboratively as a member of our team. This is a training position where you will receive daily supervision on routine work. The job objective is to be principally involved in helping with the execution of laboratory experiments and carry out and understand the intent of experiments with direction.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a degree program in the life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.).
Basic understanding of cellular and molecular biology.
Curiosity and drive to learn new techniques.
Fast learner.
Good communicator.
Ability to work at lab bench or fume hood for extended period of time.
Ability to wear protection gear (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).
Ability to operate a computer.

Responsibilities

Apply textbook knowledge of scientific principles to achieve technical objectives.
Become competent in the application of one technique.
Prepare technical data at a rudimentary level.
Understand role in team environment.
Interact effectively with co-workers and team members.
Follow project plan with assistance.
Understand how work activity is tied to meeting a customer need.
Work at bench.
