The University of Mississippi's National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) is seeking a Research Scientist I to work with NCPA staff and students to develop and design unique and state-of-the-art acoustic signal processing algorithms and software. This position requires the successful applicant to have demonstrated experience developing mathematical models of systems employing sensors for signal processing or control, as well as applying statistical data analysis techniques to multiple-channel data. Demonstrated knowledge of applied linear algebra and experience translating mathematical solutions into software is required as well as the ability to develop research proposals, prepare and deliver technical presentations, and prepare manuscripts for journal publication. Demonstrated project leadership and successful mentoring of students is required. Knowledge of physical acoustics, array signal processing techniques, and C++ are highly desirable. The selected candidate must be eligible for U.S. Security Clearance.
