About The Position

Conducts innovative scientific investigation by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories and research in projects related to the mission of UTMB. Committed to the discovery of new innovative biomedical and health services knowledge leading to increasingly effective and accessible health care. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques. Research projects focus on understanding the mechanisms of pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, especially role of gut microbiome.

Requirements

  • Ph. D, M.D, D.O., or D.V.M in related field
  • Strong background in immunology, cell biology or toxicology
  • PCR
  • siRNA
  • ncRNA
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunoblotting
  • cell culture
  • ELISA
  • flow cytometric analysis
  • working experience with animal handling (mice)
