As an important member of Philips’ Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Physics and Algorithm team, the Research Scientist develops physics-based solutions and corrections and supports medical imaging platform needs. The role leads CT image quality improvements through development of photon-counting systems, applying a system-level engineering approach across the imaging chain. The position develops CT/X-ray imaging features, including signal and image processing, CT reconstruction, and calibration; investigates image-quality issues arising during product introduction and in the installed base; and develops R&D tools for physics-based simulation and image formation. Work is primarily in MATLAB, with increasing use of Python and optional C++ for performance-critical components. The scientist maintains expertise in CT physics and advanced processing algorithms, with photon-counting CT as a priority, and applies knowledge of spectral, dual-energy, multi-energy, and cone-beam CT. The role owns the CT imaging physics roadmap, aligns it with business strategy, collaborates across clinical, marketing, and systems teams, tracks emerging technologies such as AI/deep learning, contributes to intellectual property and publications, and represents the organization in regulatory and industry engagements. This is an office-based position requiring in-person work at least three days per week. Candidates must reside in or within commuting distance of Orange, Ohio. Travel up to 10% may be required. US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship and relocation benefits are not provided.
