In this vital role you will commit to developing a deep understanding of the pathogenic mechanism of cardiometabolic diseases and play a pivotal role in driving our pre-clinical pipeline forward.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 2 years of biopharmaceutical industry and/or academic laboratory experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of biopharmaceutical industry and/or academic laboratory experience

Nice To Haves

  • Strong expertise in the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac, cardiovascular, or renal disease biology as demonstrated by high-impact publications in the field.
  • Strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, commitment to record keeping, and attention to details.
  • Extensive hands-on experience handling and performing routine procedures with laboratory rodents, including multiple in vivo dosing routes (IP, PO, SC, IV), diverse blood collection methods (e.g., cardiac, submental), serum/plasma processing, necropsy, perfusion techniques, IVIS imaging, or small rodent survival surgery, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare.
  • Ability to perform in vitro assays to dissect the mechanism of action of therapeutic molecules in cultured cells, including primary, immortalized, or iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, cardiac fibroblasts, immune cells, endothelial cells, and other relevant cardiometabolic cell types
  • Experience with 3D engineered cardiac tissue or cardiac/renal organoid models is preferred
  • Hands-on expertise with cell line engineering technologies, including CRISPR and lentivirus-, retrovirus-, or piggyBac-based stable cell line generation is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with a team of experts to generate robust data supporting the preclinical validation of novel therapeutic targets or strategies.
  • Independently design, execute, and interpret experiments, including troubleshooting, optimization of assays, data collection, interpretation, biostatistical analysis, and presentation.
  • Perform a range of procedures in laboratory rodents, such as handling, multi-route dosing, sample collection, and necropsy, followed by ex vivo sample processing and analysis
  • Participating in cross-functional drug development teams as a key intellectual and technical contributor
