About The Position

The Research Scientist 2 position involves conducting laboratory-based research using diverse fish tissue samples collected from vaccination and pathogen challenge trials. Responsibilities include processing and analyzing biological samples, performing RNA extraction and gene expression analysis using quantitative PCR (qPCR), and preparing tissue sections for histological evaluation. The role also involves conducting immunohistochemistry to identify and localize specific cellular or molecular markers, followed by microscopy and image analysis to evaluate tissue responses. The scientist will contribute to experimental design, data collection and interpretation, maintenance of accurate laboratory records, and communication of research findings through reports, presentations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.

Nice To Haves
