About The Position

Duke University School of Medicine, established in 1930, is a highly-ranked institution known for its inclusive community, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the acceleration of scientific discoveries to improve human health. It is part of Duke Health, a world-class academic medical center. This is a temporary, three-month on-site opening within the School of Medicine.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop research hypothesis through literature review and timely discussions with the PIs, and design experimental procedures to test the hypothesis.
  • Perform human and mouse skin explant cultures and subsequent analysis at the RNA and protein levels by RNA-seq, RT-PCR, immunostaining and ELISA.
  • Use statistical methods (Excel, GraphPad etc.) to analyze data and present the data in PowerPoint, PDF formats or other formats to other lab members in a weekly basis.
  • Keep electronic records of all experimental details and results, and prepare data for manuscript publication.
  • Provide technical training to new members including undergrad and graduate students
