About The Position

This role is responsible for managing complex research projects within the School of Medicine, Pulmonary department. The position requires an advanced knowledge of research methodology and techniques to assist in the planning and development of data collection tools, coordinate various aspects of studies, draft study-related text, and analyze data. The Research Projects Manager will also contribute to the development of research protocols, ensure data integrity, analyze data for performance and results, and may oversee regulatory compliance, grant proposals, and budget monitoring. Additionally, the role involves coordinating meetings, presentations, and computer support for off-site studies, as well as collaborating on reports and publications, including the preparation of tables and graphs, and potentially designing databases.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, sociology, and psychology or related discipline.
  • Two years of professional level research experience.
  • An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing complex research projects.
  • Assisting in the planning and development of survey instruments, guidelines, and procedures to collect required data using advanced knowledge of research methodology and techniques.
  • Coordinating various aspects of the study.
  • Drafting and potentially editing text for studies.
  • Analyzing data, identifying data discrepancies, and researching and identifying causes.
  • Potentially performing statistical analysis of numerical data.
  • Actively contributing to the development of research protocols.
  • Determining how research methodologies or tools must be modified.
  • Ensuring that study data and systems are maintained and accurately documented.
  • Analyzing data and developing reports to assess or monitor study performance and treatment results.
  • Potentially developing associated operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Potentially overseeing regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Potentially developing and submitting grant proposals and advising the principal investigator of changes in reporting or accounting requirements.
  • Potentially monitoring expenses and receipts for active protocols.
  • Coordinating and conducting special meetings and presentations.
  • Coordinating computer support for ancillary studies conducted at off-site locations.
  • Collaborating on reports and papers.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tables and graphs for publication and presentation.
  • Potentially designing and developing databases related to specific programs at the request of supervisor and/or Principal Investigator.
  • Performing related responsibilities as required.
